"I love the Skyline Room of the Free Library. On Monday nights, you can look out the oversized windows onto a Philadelphia skyline spangled with lights. I read a number of pieces from a new manuscript, ANIMAL, as well as favorites from COW POETRY. Kristine's plant and myth poems were especially nice, as was the open mic. Dessert at the nearby Rose Tattoo restaurant polished off the evening."

"Alison and I read upstairs, a cozy space tucked beside the café. We had a great audience, engaged and engaging. Maleka from Big Blue Marble was a perfect hostess and even joined in the open mic! I loved reading with Alison. Her poetry is very sensual, a nice contrast to my more science-oriented work especially since we often touch upon similar subjects."

"This was my first time as a featured readerdespite having a weak voice from a bout of London flu, I enjoyed the experience tremendously. I found being the middle act between two fiction writers an interesting place to beenviable, even. After the long stretch of attention fiction requires, poetry can offer a respite, room to breathe, an open space. Just what the audience needs."
